Prepared Alert, Inc.
SMS Terms
Terms for incident and drill text notifications
Effective Date: August 12, 2026
Clear, timely notifications to help authorized organizations communicate during incidents and drills.
1. Program Description
Prepared Alert, Inc. (“Prepared Alert,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an incident and drill notification program for schools, public facilities, and other organizations that use the Prepared Alert platform. When you enroll, you may receive SMS messages initiated by an authorized organization concerning incidents, drills, safety updates, status requests, instructions, and related follow-up information.
These are operational notifications, not marketing or promotional messages. Your consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any Prepared Alert product or service.
2. Message Frequency and Costs
Message frequency varies based on the number and duration of incidents, drills, and related updates initiated by your organization.
Message and data rates may apply. Prepared Alert does not charge you to send or receive messages through this program, but your wireless carrier may impose messaging, data, or other charges under your mobile plan.
3. Opt-Out and Re-Enrollment
Reply STOP to any Prepared Alert SMS message to opt out. You may receive one final message confirming that your opt-out request has been processed. After opting out, you will no longer receive SMS messages from this program unless you re-enroll.
To re-enroll later, follow the enrollment process provided by your organization or update your notification preferences through an available Prepared Alert account setting. Re-enrollment requires a new affirmative request or consent to receive SMS messages.
4. Help and Support
Reply HELP to any Prepared Alert SMS message for assistance. You may also contact Prepared Alert Support at support@preparedalert.com.
If you change or deactivate your mobile number, please update your organization or account information promptly so messages are not sent to a person who later receives that number.
5. Delivery and Carrier Disclaimer
SMS delivery depends on wireless networks, carrier availability, device functionality, coverage, and other factors outside Prepared Alert’s control. Messages may be delayed, incomplete, or undelivered. Prepared Alert and participating wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages to the extent permitted by law.
Not all devices, mobile plans, or carriers may support every message or feature. Supported carriers and program availability may change.
6. Emergency Services
SMS notifications from Prepared Alert are not a replacement for 911 or other emergency services. Do not rely on SMS as your only source of emergency information. If you are experiencing or witnessing an emergency, contact 911 or the appropriate emergency service immediately and follow instructions from local authorities and your organization.
7. Privacy and Changes
Prepared Alert’s collection and use of information related to this program are described in our Privacy Policy.
Prepared Alert may update these SMS Terms to reflect changes to the program, technology, legal requirements, or business operations. The current version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
